CONVERSION OF THE GIRLS SCHOOL INTO AN AIDED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The school was taken over by The Ambur Muslim Educational Society on 26th March 1946 and renamed as Hasanath-e-Jaria Girls School.  Its strength was over 200 girls with standards  1 to 5.

The school soon made great headway.  In 1947 the School was converted into an aided elementary school so that it could impart religious and modern education to the Muslim girls.  Government granted the necessary recognition.

In 1960 a delegation comprising of a prominent ladies of the town and parents met the General Secretary Janab T Abdul Wahid sahib and represented that the School be upgraded to Higher level as many of the girls were unable to continue their higher education after passing class 5th with Urdu medium in Hasanath-e-Jaria elementary School as continuing the education admission in Tamil Medium in the Municipal Higher Elementary School at A-Kaspa was difficult for them.

It was appealing to the General Secretary and he decided to upgrade the school to Higher Elementary School and applied for permission.  In 1961 class Vi was started and VII and VIII were added in the succeeding years.  Girls from other schools also sought admission.

Encouraged by the response and another appeal made by the parents Janab T Abdul Wahid Sahib, the General Secretary, submitted a proposal to the Government to further upgrade the school to High School with Urdu as medium of instruction.  Thanks to the co-operation of Shri Bhaktavatchalam, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the efforts of the General Secretary and N.M Anwer Sahib, former MP, permission was obtained.  Shri R. Sundaravadivelu, the Director of Public Instruction was very helpful in according and granting recognition for the school with grant in aid.
