GOLDEN JUBILEE AND INAUGURATION OF THE NEW SCHOOL BUILDING

The  year 1955 was an important milestone in the annals of the history of the Ambur Muslim Educational Society.  It had completed 50 years of its existence carrying on the torch of learning since its inception in 1905.  The Society organized golden Jubilee celebrations.  It was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madras Shri K. Kamaraj Nadar on 25 September 1955.

Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed sahib complemented the Muslim community of ambur for its excellent educational activities.  Shri N.d. Sundaravadivelu, the Director of Public Instruction praised the brilliant work of the Society.  Janab S.A.W. Bukhari sahib, M.S. Abdul Majeed sahib and Janab N.M. Anwer sahib, M.P. also participated in the grand function.   The two day celebration included sports meet, cultural program of the students and “Mushaira” . It was the most auspicious occasion and a grand festival of the Society which offered its deep depth of gratitude to the galaxy of those illustrious personalities who had selflessly dedicated themselves to its services in all stages.

On this happy occasion Janab Merit Hajee Mohammed Ismail sahib declared open the new spacious and imposing storeyed building of the Mazharul Uloom High School.  It is to be noted here that the Management had to undergo many ordeals during the period of its growth and expansion.  Thanks to the support of the Government of Tamil Nadu and co-operation of the Muslim community the new massive building came into existence at a cost of more than Rs. 2 lakhs.  It had many spacious, well ventilated halls and class rooms to accommodate about 500 students.  The Management also provided a new set of furniture to all these newly built class rooms.

Religion and spirituality from the backbone of Islamic Culture and the pupils of this institution are brought up in a solemn atmosphere charged with religion.  Their daily program includes morning prayers before the commencement of the regular classes when passages from the Holy Qur’an are recited and a short talk on morality is given by the teachers, attendance at Asar prayers and Religious Instruction classes.  The pupils get the benefit of a full course of religious and moral instructions and are made familiar with the principles and teachings of Islam and the history of the life and work of the holy Prophet (Pbuh), his companions, saints and servants etc.  Thus the pupils are made to imbibe our distinctive Islamic ideals.
